Adventures in Spain - Part Six of Eight

While it is true, that I have done my exploring of Valencia by walking, today is the exception. I am presently staying at a hotel that is outside of the Old Town. I am about five miles to the Museum and as much as I have enjoyed my walks, a taxi is in order for today.
The Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia is the second largest art gallery in Spain with works from the 15th to the 19th centuries, including rooms dedicated to the magnificent oeuvre of the famous Valencian painter Joaquin Sorolla, as well as a room dedicated to Francisco de Goya.
Furthermore, the museum excels in its collection of Renaissance paintings, with Valencia being the entrance of the artistic influences of this style in Spain. Neither must be missed the Courtyard of Ambassador Vich and the previously unseen work of Valazquez.
The Gothic art rooms are very impressive, and the rooms of the painters and sculptures Pinazo and Benlliure are very representative of the Valencian school.
The architect, Juan Bautista Perez Castiel, the master works on the Cathedral was responsible for its design. Work was carried out between 1683 and 1744. Although used for different purposes during these years, the artistic journey begins with a selection of the so-called Pimitivos Valencianos (medieval painters).
There are works of art of those who include; Alcanyis, Nicolau, Jacomart and Reixach. Also, painters of the Valencian School such as Joanes, los Ribalta, Espinosa, Vincenter Lopex as well as exhibits by Pintoricchio, Andrea del Sarto, Van Dyck, Murillo, Velazquez, El Greco and Goya.
I am near the end of my adventures in Valencia and of my first trip in Spain. It is my hope that you have enjoyed visiting Valencia with me during this trip. I will continue to update my postings.
